it didn’t feel right to speed through the mountains.
something in the clouds told us to slow down and take a left turn.
we ended up in a strange land,
a place where i had only thought of in the early hours of the morning,
a place i had hoped would present itself to me with a new path to follow.
we ended up on the California border chasing a storm
front with no plan to stop before sundown
heeding no warming from the winds blowing eastward.an airplane took me home, back east.
i’m still chasing clouds.
